December 5-6, 2013
House of Sweden Conference Center, Washington, DC
This week, two notables - ONC's Dr. Jacob Reider and Joshua Oiro, who leads health management information system collaborations with the Kenyan Health Ministry, were added to the list of confirmed speakers who will tell you what's happening "Beyond Borders: Interoperability and the Future of Healthcare."Dr. Reider will provide insightful keynote remarks at the conference and Mr. Oiro will highlight HL7 efforts in East Africa and how the Futures Group is leveraging mobile technology to fight cervical cancer in Kenya. With funding from the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (DPEPFAR), this project seeks to improve tracking of cervical cancer screening by including it in the automated reporting from electronic medical records (EMR) to the District Health Information System (DHIS2) using a mobile device. HL7 is also fortunate to have its International Council representatives from Argentina, Brazil and the Netherlands speaking at the event.
